Loyal, compassionate dogs that shine in the home and the field.

The German Wirehaired Pointer was created in Germany in the late 19th Century. The goal was to create a dog that was sturdy and durable that would excel in the water, forest and field.  The breed was created by selectively breeding, Stichelhaar, Pudelpointer, Griffon and Deutsch-Kurzhaar (German Shorthaired Pointer).  They achieved great success in creating a truly versatile working dog with great intensity and durability. The GWP is a loyal, compassionate dog that shines when it has a job to do.
